Although day one from Royal Liverpool is nearly in the books, one of the busiest weeks in golf has just begun. My favorite PGA Tour event, the State Open with the biggest winner's check in developmental golf, the longest-running mini-tour event, and Korn Ferry and PGA Tour Canada. Below are the leaderboards and some small insights into the field and events.
The Barracuda Championship
Although the main PGA Tour event is happening across the pond, the late-season Barracuda may have more pressure. A large portion of the field is far down the FedEx points list, and their status hangs in the balance. This week is critical for many players; a vital two-year exemption hangs in the balance.

LPGA Tour
Played near my home town, the only team event on the LPGA schedule enters the 2nd round today after a Wednesday start. With a major next week a lot of top players skipped this event and makes for some great opportuinties for some players down the point list.

The Colorado Open
The biggest State Open of the year boasts a $100,000 winners check. The field includes PGA Tour winner Kevin Stadler, multiple former Korn Ferry members, former number-one ranked amateur Braden Thornberry, and past CO Open winners. Mark Agiano, who won this event in 2021, stopped playing professionally last year but is returning. Sam Saunders (NOT iced tea SS), the 2019 champ returns also.

The Waterloo Open
The Waterloo Open started in 1934 and has run every single year except 2020 when it was canceled for COVID. The event includes many recognizable past champions, including 1952 Champ Jerry Barber, 1986 Tom Lehman, 1993 Woody Austin, and PGA Tour winner Nate Lashley won back-to-back years in 2010 and 2011. Will Dickson, the defending champion, headlines this year's field. The winner takes home $50,000.
The Korn Ferry Tour
There are just five regular season events left before the Korn Ferry finals begin, and with many top players taking this week off, there is a massive opportunity for someone to make a leap up the points list. Highland Springs Country Club creates some really low scores, so someone must go low to take home the trophy.

The Canadian Tour
This week's event marks the halfway point of the season. Davis Lamb, who Monday qualified two events ago then won that week, looks to make it three in a row after winning last week.

Epson Tour
Gabi Ruffels will look for her third win starting tomorrow in New York.
