I hope everyone takes a minute to think about the players on Big Break. Forget the Good Good guys for a second. The other 10. Think about Jesse Rouse, who doesn’t know his mom, his Dad was a meth addict, and in his young years was probably around domestic violence, his grandparents, who were his hero’s and savior, dead before he was 20. His sister attempted suicide two days after his grandma died. And somehow, somehow he graduated from college and for once, something went his way. He was named to be on Big Break. And now it’s gone. I feel horrible for him, for the other guys who had the chance of a lifetime. For the winner (truly, i dont know who won) For all the people that worked their ass off behind the scenes to make this show possible. To be on that show was a dream come true. Thank you to golf channel for the amazing opportunity. Im sorry to everyone involved. Here is to it coming back in 2027.
Austin Hitt just finished Runner-up at the AdventHealth Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour after shooting 60 in the final round to get to 28-under for the tournament. The finish moved him to 22nd on the KFT points list and he now has his sights set on a PGA Tour card. My thoughts on getting Am status back: I'm all for a set of rules, like if you played X amount of PGA Tour events you aren't allowed to ever get it back, or if you played X KFT events you have to wait this amount of time. etc. I just think the rules should start when they announce them. I spoke with a couple of players over the last few days (not Colt) about it. And neither player has ever played a PGA Tour event. And both received the same email as Colt. They both applied a long time ago, assumed they would have to wait X years and get it back as every player in their position has in the past. Both gave up playing random pro events, state opens, Monday Q's in their home state, etc to make sure they were able to get their Am status back. Now they are being told they might not. In my opinion that isn't right. And although Colt is in the same boat, he was told he would likely get it back, I'm not talking about him, I'm talking about mini-tour players or guys who didn't make the PGA Tour. Also, why can't we give players Am status back and just prevent them from playing in top USGA events?
