This week, the Korn Ferry Finals begin in Boise, Idaho. The Finals consist of four events with smaller fields and players being eliminated each week, concluding in French Lick, Ind., with a field of 70 vying for 30 PGA Tour cards.

Here is what is at stake for the 156 players eligible at the first event.

What is at stake:

There are 30 PGA Tour cards. According to the PGA Tour, 10 of those cards are officially locked up.

Every position that a player can move up in the top 30 is vital. For the first part of next season on the PGA Tour, players will be ranked in the priority rankings in the order they finished in the top 30. For example, finishing 20th instead of 30th might mean one or two more starts early next season, which can be huge. Right before the Masters there is a reshuffle and players are re-ranked according to points earned. Rafael Campos who finished 30th in last year's points has 18 starts so far this season. Ben Kohles who finished first has 22.

The player that finishes 1st will get fully exempt status for the entire 2025 season, including spots in the U.S. Open and Players Championship. This means he is in every non-signature event including invitationals.

31-75 secure full KFT status for next season.

76-100 secure conditional status for KFT next season. Even the 100th spot is valuable, just ask Kaito Onishi. In 2023, Onishi finished 100th by one stroke across the entire season. He got into a field earlier this season, played well, and was eligible for the reshuffle. That earned him a full season and he won an event. He now enters KFT Finals in 25th position with a very good chance to earn his PGA Tour card.

Players finishing 31st to 60th get an exemption into the final stage of PGA Tour Q-school, where five more PGA Tour cards are available.

Players finishing 61-85 will earn an exemption into the second stage of Q-school. 89-100, although they have conditional KFT status, have to go back to first stage.

Field Sizes:

Albertsons Open, Boise, Idaho- Top 156 in points

Simmons Bank Open, Franklin, Tennessee- Top 144 in points (September 12-15)

Nationwide Children's Hospital Open, Ohio State- Top 120 in points (September 19-22)

Tour Championship, French Lick, Indiana - Top 75 in points (October 3-6)

* A significant change for this season's Finals is the fields will not extend past the allotted number on the points list. For example, in past years if a player in the top 156 didn't play an event, the player in 157th got in; if two WD, then 158th would get in, and so on. This year, the tour won't replace anyone eligible for the tournament who doesn't play. So, if 20 players decide not to play in the first week, the field will have 136 players.

* The list is based on points earned, including non-members. For instance, Will Chandler and Hunter Eichhorn are both in Albertson's field. Neither are members, but they earned enough points by making cuts after Monday qualifiers to earn a spot in the field. They are eligible for all of the benefits listed below. With his 2nd place last week Chandler will now be in at least the first three finals events.

Purses:

The four purses will be $1.5 Million each, up from the regular season purses of $1 Million.

Points:

The winner of each event will earn 600 points, up from the 500 for winning a regular season event.
