  1. Levin played two years at UCLA before transferring to the University of New Mexico where he became a two-time All-American
  2. In 2004 Levin qualified for the US Open at Shinnecock Hills. He went on to shoot 69-73-71-75 and finish T13. Among the names he beat that week were Sergio Garcia, Vijay Singh, and one Tiger Woods.
  3. Levin turned pro in 2005 and played in seven PGA Tour events making three cuts with a best finish of T20 in the Buick Championship.
  4. He wouldn’t become a full member of the PGA Tour until 2009.
  5. In 2007, he won twice on the Canadian Tour (prior to it being affiliated with the PGA Tour). One of those events was played in Mexico for some unknown reason. He won again on that tour in 2008.
  6. In 2008, he played a full season on the then Nationwide (KFT) Tour, making 19 of 28 cuts with seven top-10s. His best finish was a runner-up finish to Scott Piercy in the Wichita Open.
  7. 2011 was Levin’s best year on Tour so far. That season he made 25 of 31 cuts, lost in a playoff at Mayakoba, and had 13 top-25s. He made over $2.3 million and finished 47th in points.
  8. In 2014 he lost his pga tour card, finishing 163rd in points, but regained it in Web.com finals (KFT).  And in the 2014-15 season, he finished 82nd in points.
  9. His last full season on Tour was 2016-17. He again finished 163rd in points to lose his card. Since then he has only played five tour events.
  10. Levin is just three made cuts from Veteran Status. He currently sits at 147 made cuts in 244 events played and needs 150 to gain veteran status. That would give him a huge bump in his future retirement pension and also give him status on tour for years to come.
  11. We played in a group with Spencer in last year's Byron Nelson Monday qualifier. On the 13th hole, a snake passed by us between the green and the next tee. All of us jumped back and he just stepped over it and said, “he ain’t going to do shit.” It was legendary.
  12. Spence really played well that day. He made a long putt for eagle on the 15th and after that, the pressure seemed to close in on him. Up until that point he had been really talkative, but then he started to keep to himself. On the 18th, he had a short putt for par that he knew would probably be good enough for a playoff. He yipped it. It was maybe two and half feet. We all felt terrible for him. He could not have been nicer the entire day and we were all pulling for him.
  13. This win moves him up to 11th in KFT points and gives him a huge edge on earning one of the 30 Tour cards available at the end of the season.
  14. This was Spence’s 343rd Tour sanctioned start (according to the PGA Tour) and his first win.
  15. Levin has been a part of two playoffs in his PGA/KFT career. He lost to Johnson Wagner in the 2012 Mayakoba on Tour and lost to Kevin Tway in the 2013 Albertsons Open on the KFT.
  16. Colt Knost told a great story about Spence from college (full article from GOLF.com in link): a player asked if he needed sunscreen and Levin replied, “Nah, I’ll die of lung cancer before I die from skin cancer.”
  17. Although I do love Smokin’ Spencer pics, it's awesome that he quit smoking nearly a decade ago. He also hasn’t had a drink in over two years. Awesome stuff.
  18. Levin becomes the fifth Monday Q to win on the KFT since 2011, and the second in the last two years after Norman Xiong won last year.
